Observation Replaces Assumption
Most hair color problems begin when assumptions replace observation.

In hair color, assumptions are expensive.
We assume a formula will behave a certain way because of the number on the tube.
We assume a developer will produce a specific result because someone told us it would.
We assume a level, a tone, or a formulation without first observing what the hair is actually doing.
Observation replaces assumption.
The goal is not to guess.
The goal is to understand.
Hair color behaves according to chemistry, environment, condition, and time. When we learn to observe those variables, decisions become more predictable and results become more consistent.
The hair is always telling the truth.
Our job is to learn how to read it.
